Finance & Billing Manager

Position Summary

The Finance & Billing Manager is responsible for owning all financial operations that power Maxin Home’s subscription model, vendor payments, and service-related transactions. This role oversees billing accuracy, subscription renewals, financial reporting, revenue reconciliation, payment processing, vendor invoicing, and compliance across all markets. The ideal candidate is meticulous, analytical, and technology-savvy, with experience managing financial workflows in a service or subscription-based business.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Revenue Operations

  • Manage end-to-end billing operations for all subscription plans, renewals, upgrades, and cancellations.

  • Ensure accurate generation of invoices, receipts, and account statements.

  • Oversee payment processing and audits.

  • Monitor billing exceptions, failed payments, chargebacks, and refunds.

  • Maintain accurate revenue recognition in alignment with company policies and accounting standards.

Financial Reporting & Forecasting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including revenue summaries, expense tracking, and profitability analysis.

  • Support budgeting and forecasting models for customer growth, churn, service costs, and vendor payouts.

  • Analyze financial trends to provide insights for pricing strategy and operational efficiency.

  • Partner with leadership to prepare reports for investors, audits, and market-expansion initiatives.

Subscription Management

  • Track contract commitments, renewal cycles, and membership terms across markets.

  • Work closely with Customer Success to ensure a seamless customer billing experience.

  • Develop dashboards and systems to monitor churn, LTV, MRR/ARR, and customer payment behavior.

Vendor Payments & Cost Management

  • Manage vendor invoicing, payment cycles, and service cost reconciliation.

  • Verify service completion and SLA compliance before releasing vendor payouts.

  • Build scalable systems for handling multi-state contractor and vendor payments.

  • Track cost of goods sold (COGS) related to service delivery (equipment, parts, materials).

Compliance & Controls

  • Maintain financial controls to prevent errors, fraud, and payment discrepancies.

  • Ensure compliance with state regulations around subscription billing and recurring payments.

  • Support annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory submissions.

  • Implement policies for financial integrity and transparency.

Technology & Process Optimization

  • Own financial systems including billing platforms, CRM revenue modules, and accounting software.

  • Collaborate with Product/Tech teams to improve automation and reduce manual workload.

  • Optimize workflows for scale as Maxin Home expands nationally.

  • Evaluate and integrate new fintech solutions when needed.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in finance, billing operations, accounting, or subscription revenue management.

  • Strong understanding of subscription billing, revenue recognition, and recurring-payment structures.

  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with CRM or billing software (e.g., Stripe, Recurly, Chargebee).

  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Experience managing vendor payments, invoicing, and cost control.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in home services, property management, or subscription-based companies.

  • Familiarity with multi-state compliance for recurring payments.

  • Exposure to SaaS-style MRR/ARR reporting.

  • CPA or finance-related certification (a plus but not required).
